OUR STORY
We are Yellow Jacket Aviation, and we are building the future of aviation at Georgia Tech.
We want to add to Georgia Tech's rich tradition of mascots by developing a Ramblin Reck for the skies. Since our founding in Spring 2024, our team has focused on building an airplane that will be flown by students, continuing a tradition similar to that of the Ramblin’ Reck. We promote interdisciplinary collaboration whilst helping our members to gain real-world experience in the aviation industry.
Our project is broken into three phases. We are currently concluding the research and exploration phase where we have decided to build an RV-14. We are hoping to commence the fabrication & assembly phase this academic year and are aiming to complete this phase by Fall 2027. Lastly, we will have our ongoing maintenance and upgrade phase where we will continue to develop our aircraft. During this third phase, our goal is for the Ramblin’ Reck of the Skies to perform flyovers at official Georgia Tech events and cement its role as an additional mascot for the institution.
We cannot do this without your help. With your resources and commitment to the local community, together, we can make an incredible difference. All donations whether monetary or in-kind are appreciated. To show how much we appreciate your help, we will happily thank you on our website.
